Athena, according to Greek mythology, was the goddess of wisdom, the olive tree, strategy and war. was the beloved daughter of Zeus. Her mother was Metis, the first wife of Zeus. Zeus after prophecy learned that Metis would give birth to the child who would overthrow his father from power, so he swallowed her while she was pregnant in Athena. Later, Zeus began to suffer from headaches and called on Hephaestus to help him. Then Hephaestus with a big hammer hit the head of Zeus and Athena was thrown in armor, wearing helmets and holding a shield. Seeing Zeus, he threw them at his feet, a sign of his recognition as the supreme god. According to mythology, the city is named after the goddess Athena, after her fight with the sea god Poseidon to become the best gift anyone had for the city. Specifically, the first king of Athens, Kekropas, who was half human and half snake, had to decide who would be the protector of the city. The two gods Poseidon and Athena would make a gift to Kekropas and whoever did the best, he would become a protector. They both appeared in front of Kekropas and Poseidon was the first to hit his trident on the ground and a stream with gargling water appeared. Then Athena struck her spear on the ground and a small olive tree appeared. Kekropas was surprised but also impressed by Athena's gift and decided to choose her gift as the patron saint of the city. This is how Athens got its name. However, Poseidon, angry with Kekropas, cursed Athens to never have enough water. Thus, from then on, the problem of water scarcity that afflicted Athens began.
